A $5.1 million investment in Chillicothe, Mo., will create 87 new jobs at a new facility to manufacture and refurbish intermediate bulk containers.
IBC North America of Clarkston, Mich., and Clean Tide Container of Robertsdale, Ga., are teaming up to open the new 50,000-square-foot facility in the Kansas City, Mo., area.
“Missouri's skilled workers and stable, business-friendly climate played a key role in our decision to invest here and we are very excited about the opportunities this expansion will present for our company and this region," said Dick Harding, CEO of IBC North America, in a statement.
Clean Tide Container bills itself as a fast-growing intermediate bulk container reconditioning, collection and recycling companies. The company also has facilities in Stanton, Ky., Perris, Calif., and Clarkston, Mich.
IBC North America makes intermediate bulk containers and collects empty containers around the world. The company also has a site in Lawrenceville, Ga.
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, in announcing the new development on his website, called the decision to locate the new facility in Chillicothe great news for the region.
